Bloom 2010

Congratulations to the 8 ladies from the Sutton Floral Art Group, which includes Sandra Finnegan (Floral Designer - Grand Hotel) from Sutton, who won Gold and Best in Category for their 5 part exhibition entitled Elements of Nature at this year's Bord Bia Bloom festival in the Phoenix Park, Dublin. Sandra contributed the Water Element.

Bloom, Ireland’s largest gardening, food and family event, returned to the Phoenix Park for the June Bank Holiday weekend for 5 days.

This year’s event included over 20 spectacular showgardens, 50 floral displays and a large scale artisan farmers market.

Sutton Dinghy Club - First Annual Sponsored Sail 2010

Sutton Dinghy Club's First Annual Sponsored Sail on Saturday, 3rd July 2010 shall raise vital funds for a new rescue boat and junior training equipment.

The Sponsored Sail will follow a 10km route from the Dinghy Club, down the creek to Dinghy Supplies on the Dublin Road and back.

Sailing will take place between 3pm and 6 pm and will be followed by a BBQ and live music at the clubhouse.

Apart from raising vital funds, the day should also be great fun for Junior and Senior members alike!

Howth Yacht Club to Host Etchells World Championships

Howth Yacht Club shall host the Etchells World Championships in late August 2010, a major international sailing event that shall attract up to 200 sailors from around the world to Howth for 2 weeks.

Many of the visitors, who will come from the UK, USA, Autralia and Europe, will combine their competitive racing on the water with a family holiday in the Howth / Sutton region.

Howth Yacht Club was voted Ireland's Sailing Club of the Year 2009 and is Ireland's largest sailing club with 2,200 members.
