Howth Peninsula Heritage Society

Howth Peninsula Heritage Society shall hold a talk on ‘Howth in Myth and Legend’ by Professor Daithi O'hOgain, U.C.D. on Tuesday, 27th April 2010 at 8pm in Howth Angling Centre, West Pier, Howth.

All are most welcome to attend. The cost for non-members is €4.

The talk shall be preceded at 6:45pm by the unveiling of a plaque to the late Leslie O’Laoi at the junction of Kilrock Road and Nashville Road.

Sutton / Howth Band to Play at Oxegen Festival

The Capitals, a three-piece band from Sutton and Howth in North Co. Dublin, shall become the youngest band ever to play at this summer's Oxegen festival.

Glen Guerin, Mark Ryan and Evan Dempsey got together in the summer of 2008 and have been moving up through the ranks, winning the Battle of the Bands and exploring and experimenting with new sounds and ideas.

Marine Hotel Complimented in 'The Dubliner' Magazine

The April 2010 edition of The Dubliner magazine featured as a National Treasure Billy Barry, founder of the Billy Barry Theatre School.

She was interviewed prior to receiving the Variety Club of Ireland’s 'Living Legend Award'. Asked about her likes and dislikes, for the uutdoors she said, “I love Howth Hill. You can have a lovely stroll round Howth, there’s nowhere like it. Not just in Ireland but anywhere in the world".

When asked about restaurants, she commented “The Marine Hotel at Sutton. There’s a lovely carvery there, and they’re nice and friendly. And the Views! You couldn’t compete with them. A big, long lawn, after that the sea, after that the Dublin Mountains”.
